Your Words, Our Greatest Strength: Thank You to Our Community!
Dear partners, community members, and friends of biodiversity,
Over the past two months, our social media channels have transformed into a beautiful space for connection, vibrant with emotions, memories, and encouragement. Your messages—whether a single passionate word or long, touching paragraphs, expressed through beating heart emojis or tags of support—have deeply moved us.
Whether sharing your precious childhood memories in Itombwe, proposing children’s book projects to shine a spotlight on the Grauer’s gorilla, or offering vibrant thanks for our work on Idjwi Island and around Kahuzu Biega National Park, every single word proves that our efforts are touching hearts and that the fruits of our labor are tangible.

It is through your eyes and your support that the legacy of our mentor, Dr. Augustin K. Basabose, lives on, and that biodiversity is reborn.
The sustainable conservation of great apes and the protection of high-altitude ecosystems is an immense challenge, often threatened by human pressures. But reading your words, we know exactly why we get up every morning to head out into the field. You give us the strength to keep mapping contour lines, studying primates, and protecting this magical natural world.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Thank you for being a part of the Primate Expertise family. Together, we continue to protect, understand, and love this wild world.
The Primate Expertise (PEx) Team
